A native of San Mateo, CA, Sergi Goldman-Hull graduated from the Peabody Conservatory of Music with a BM in Violin Performance. He began studying the violin at age 5 with the Suzuki method, and at age 16 won the “Young Musicians Competition,” performing Mozart’s 3rd. Mr. Goldman-Hull was also a member of The El Camino Youth Symphony, The Peninsula Youth Orchestra, and The San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. In 2002, Mr. Goldman-Hull won a spot in the American Russian Young Artists Orchestra touring the Eastern US, Russia, and Armenia for 5 weeks.
Sergi is a tenured member of several Bay Area Symphonies, including the Oakland East Bay Symphony, Symphony Silicon Valley, Opera San Jose, Marin Symphony Orchestra, and California Symphony. He has also been Concertmaster for various groups around the Bay Area, including most recently the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he has been a regular member of the “Music In The Mountains Festival” in Grass Valley, CA since 2009, and “The Mendocino Music Festival” since 2005. In the Summer of 2008, he performed with the Sun Valley Summer Symphony in Sun Valley, ID, an experience that he still rates as one of the top in his life.
Sergi also enjoys sports, especially baseball and tennis. Sometimes sports and his musical jobs intersect, such as when he performed with the Oakland East Bay Symphony at AT&T Park in San Francisco for the World Baseball Classic in 2013, and with Symphony Silicon Valley at the new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara for the 1st Outdoor Professional Hockey Game in Northern California between the SJ Sharks and the LA Kings. He also likes working on house projects with his wife and “cat-family" at their beautiful home in Oakland.
